ABOUT MHM

MHM was founded by two Montessori educators in 2007. Seeing a need for a community oriented school, Mountain Heights Montessori is built around the idea that strong academics and social connectivity enhance a child's future in the global marketplace. So, this is not a just a school; it is a living and learning community.  The school's primary mission is to foster a love of learning in each student. Our curriculum skillfully weaves artistic and practical disciplines into everyday academics. Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and cooperatively with others. Through hands on learning, MHM students tackle academic curriculum in ways that are engaging, meaningful and adaptable to a variety of learning styles and abilities. We celebrate diversity and strive to instill integrity, compassion and confidence in each child. We give each child support and encouragement to become his or her own unique self. We invite your family to join our community and bring your talents, contributions and love of learning to MHM.

Within the child, lies the fate of the future...

FAQ:

What is Montessori?

Montessori education is an educational approach to children based on the research and experiences of Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori (1870–1952). It arose essentially from Dr. Montessori's discovery of what she referred to as "the child's true normal nature", based on her observation of young children given freedom in an environment prepared with materials designed for their self-directed learning activity. The method is used to assist children to bring about, sustain and support their true natural way of learning. Montessori schools have had a record of excellence for over 100 years.

Why don't you give homework or grades?

Children have more time to explore their own intrinsic need for knowledge. For more on homework, click here. Grouping children by age rather than by grade allows the younger students to learn from their peers and for the older students to practice leadership skills. This system has been successful for over 100 years. It is MHM's belief that no homework assignment should take precedence over your time at home with your child.

How do I enroll?
